Narrative1 has added numerous new features, many of which were requested by our users. Please keep the suggestions coming! 

To get the most out of the videos, set quality to high (1080) and view in full screen.


  • Edit Excel From Word. Now, users can edit a field in Word, and the changes will propagate throughout the Word doc, and in the Excel file.

  • New Database Features:
    • Radius Search: Set a distance and search a radius from the subject.
    • Distance Results: The distance from the subject to the comparables is returns with the search results.
    • Search Interface: A new more intuitive search interface and quick-pick search items for faster, simpler searches.
    • Full Screen Search: Expandable search window and map, up to full screen.
    • Expanded Data Entry View: More room to enter/edit comp data.
    • Thumbnail Images: Thumbnail images are displayed with search results. Click the thumbnail for a full size image and comp details.
    • Calculations: Expanded calculation features and color-coded calculation fields.
    • Database Subject Rents: Save leases from the Rent Roll to the database.
    • Multiple Rents Under One Comp: Now save several rents as a single comp.

  • New Workbook Features:
    • New Rent Roll Features:
      • Lease term calculations
      • Lease type descriptions
      • Asking rents for vacant units
      • Variance calculations from contract to market, or asking to market
    • New Commercial Rent Summary Tables: Summary Tables can now display multiple rents under a single comparable
    • New Multifamily Rent Summary Tables: Narrative1 has improved functionality allowing the analyst to align any subject unit type with any comparable unit type.
    • Default Blank Comp Fields: When a database records does not have data for a particular field, the user can choose to display “NA”, “--”, characters of their choosing, or leave blank.
    • Fast Get Subject Data: Now, populating the subject data on the adjustment grids is nearly instantaneous.
    • Aggregate Data For Multiple Parcels: Now, when working with multiple parcels  or buildings, the user can choose to combine the parcels/building data on the adjustment grids.
